Partner Dragon Staff – Day 2

    Kata & Arno

On the second day we will start immediately with more advanced movements, like Halos and Feicha-Rolls.
We will also introduce a partner dragon specific concept, the Hyper-Roll. It is more than an adaptation of solo dragon movement.
Finally, we will try some Basic Partner Double Dragon movements in parallel- and in cross-position and some transitions between those.

    About Kata & Arno:

Kata and Arno are the artists and creative minds behind Flame
Rain Theatre. Their absolute passion is Partner Dragon Staff. For an entire decade they systematically developed concepts and movements. Their complexity evolved far beyond what is possible by just Jamming around. From the beginning they loved to share their results and turning Partner Dragon into common flow practice – by now seen at any convention or fire jam in Europe.

    Who is this for: Intermediate
Experience with Solo Dragon Staff (Backwards Chi-Roll recommended)

Partner Dragon Staff – Day 1

    Kata & Arno

To sync with your partner we will dive into smooth variations of the Chi-Roll and simple moves like the super-couple and throws – also introducing the 4-Wings-System, a language for a deeper understanding of Partner Dragon Staff and finding possible variations.
From there we will explore steps and ways of moving during the flow.
We will also look into more complex tricks and discover the vertical planeT.

  • High-Level Partner Acrobatics

    High-Level Partner Acrobatics

    Yves Vander Donckt

Two days of intensive partner acrobatics training for experienced acrobats who want to take their duo and group work to the next level.

During the Pro-Con, Yves Vander Donckt will work with a small group of advanced participants over two full training days. In addition to following a fixed workshop programme, the training will focus on the participants, their formations and their individual goals. This gives us the time to work in depth: to refine technique, analyse elements, develop new skills and progress on the details that are often difficult to address in a regular workshop setting.

We will work on high-level duo and group acrobatics, with the exact content adapted to the level and interests of the participating acrobats.

    About Yves:

Yves Vander Donckt is an internationally experienced Belgian acrobatics coach and currently part of the coaching team of the German Sport Acrobatics Federation (DSAB), where he works in high-performance athlete development. Before coming to Germany, he coached within the Portuguese and Hungarian acrobatics systems and worked alongside Belgian national coach Sergey Tretyakov.

His experience extends well beyond national-team training. Yves has worked as an expert for World Gymnastics/FIG coach education and is regularly involved in international high-level acrobatics training. He has also coached regularly at Cirque du Soleil athlete workshops, working with advanced acrobats on disciplines including Banquine and Russian Cradle and on transferring competitive acrobatics skills to the stage. You can see some of his work on Instagram.

For the Pro-Con, this means a rare opportunity to spend two days working closely with a coach who is used to analysing and developing acrobatics at the highest level.

Who is this for: Advanced partner acrobats with solid experience in duo and/or group acrobatics. This is not an introduction to partner acrobatics.

    When: Saturday, 31 October & Sunday, 1 November 2026

Duration: 6 hours of training per day / 12 hours total

Group size: Small, focussed training group. At most 20 people.

  • Intermediate Double Hoop Intensive

    Intermediate Double Hoop Intensive

    Meghan Fergus (Ohmega)

In the first half of this intensive workshop we will focus on double hoop combos that incorporate rolls and tosses to add flair and impressive tricks to your repertoire. We will use chest rolls, C rolls and tosses with one hoop while the other hoop gracefully transitions around the first one. In the second half of this workshop we will explore transitions between basic moves like weaves, caps and flowers with techy moves that incorporate isolations, smears and antispins. By learning such transitions this opens up your double hoop flow to another level, giving more possibilities of how to create unique combos and your own unique flow.
